A CISM Veteran visited the BoD

CONAKRY (GUI) - In the frame of the 3^rd BoD meeting of 2016, the CISM Board was very happy to receive the “surprise” visit of Major General Honoré Nabéré Traoré from Burkina Faso, presently the special advisor of the President of the Republic of Burkina Faso.

Général Traoré has been a marking figure of CISM in the years 1990 and 2000. Successively Chief of the Burkina Faso Delegation for many years, he became the President of the Western Africa Liaison Office and led to the establishment of OSMA, the “CISM Africa continental organization”. General Traoré logically became BoD member for 8 years and cumulated with the function as President of the CISM Finances Commission until 2010, when his national government decided to use huge skills and international experience to become the Chief of General Staff of the Burkina Faso Armed Forces.

General Traore, obviously emotional, took the floor at the BoD session and shared his happiness to be together with CISM BoD members and expressed his satisfaction to see the latest CISM Developments that he can follow on the CISM Facebook page. He wished CISM to keep strong and encouraged BoD members to keep developing the spirit of Friendship through Sport. The CISM President expressed his satisfaction and reminded General Traoré that he was still and will always be a member of the CISM Family.
