CISM at the 68th UIPM Congress

FRANKFURT (GER) – On November 24-26 2016, the Modern Pentathlon society gathered at the 68th UIPM Congress in Frankfurt/Main City – Germany to discuss the issues related to the next Olympic period.

UIPM inducted the first 10 members of the UIPM Hall of Fame during the official opening of the 68th UIPM Congress in presence of Dr. Thomas Bach, President of the International Olympic Committee.

The UIPM Hall of Fame seeks to recognize athletes, administrators and other individuals who have made a unique impact on the core Olympic sport of Modern Pentathlon, starting with its founder, Baron Pierre de Coubertin.

This was a great day for all the Armed Forces around the sports world as General George Smith Patton (USA), who took the 5th place in the first Olympic Games in 1912 in Stockholm, was honored by UIPM at the Hall of fame. The UIPM President Dr. Hc Klaus Schormann also awarded the USA Modern Pentathlon President Mr. Rob Stull and the CISM Modern Pentathlon President Nilton Gomes Rolim Filho.

The UIPM family re-elected Dr. Klaus Schormann (GER) as President and elected two new UIPM Vice-Presidents, 5 Executive Board members, 5 Technical Committee members, six Medical Committee members, 4 Business Affairs Committee members, and 1 member for each of the following commissions: Sport, Marketing, Media and Treasurer.
