CISM Sport Science Commission Update - 4^th ICSPP

JYVÄSKYLÄ (FIN) – The first meeting of the CISM Sport Science Commission took place in Tuusula and Jyväskylä (Finland) from 21^st to 24^th September 2016. The first day of the meeting consisted in the annual Nordic Meeting and the scientific symposium in the field of Soldiers’ Physical Performance. The 17^th International Symposium Biomechanics of Human Movement on Mechanisms and Methods took place on the second day while the 1^st meeting of the CISM Sport Science Commission took place on the third day. During this meeting, Commander (Navy) Anderson A. Urbancg, the CISM Academy Manager, Prof. Heikki Kyröläinen (Ph.D.), Head of CISM Sport Science Commission, Lt-Col Eduardo Borba Neves (Ph.D.), CISM Sport Science Member, Prof. Thomas Wyss (Ph.D.), CISM Sport Science Member, Prof. Patrick Gagnon (M.Sc), CISM Sport Science Member, Prof. Major Zhihua Zhang (M.Sc.), CISM Sport Science Member, Prof. Frederik Sevelsted (M.Sc), CISM Sport Science Member and Commander (Navy) Marcos Lucio, CISM Sports & Peace Manager, discussed about the planning and the further actions for the development of the CISM Academy.

Through the Agreement of Cooperation between the International Military Sports Council (CISM) and the Defence Science and Technology (DST) Group for the 4th International Congress on Soldiers' Physical Performance 2017 (ICSPP 2017) a number of congress awards and travel grants have been established.
