CISM Day Run in Vietnam

VIETNAM - The year of 2016 marks the 69 anniversary of the foundation of the “Conseil International du Sport Militaire – CISM”. Over the past 69 years, CISM has been striving for bringing the members’ armed forces in sport event to celebrate and promote peace, unity and friendship among CISM-family. To celebrate the foundation of CISM, this year, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam has organized the annual CISM Day Run nationwide in March, 2016. This event brought together 207,434 participants from different military units of Vietnam People’s Army, different cities and towns across the country regardless of ranks, gender and age running for the same purpose “Friendship through Sports”.

The number of participants this year has significantly increased compared to the previous years in response to the International Military Sports Council (CISM) Run Day. Really and truly, the event has become a traditional festival for all military units of Vietnam People’s Army, arousing the sporting spirit among them while strengthening the civilian and military solidarity.
