The first CISM Board of Directors of the year started in Berchtesgaden!
BERCHTESGADEN (GER) - The 1st CISM Board of Directors Meeting in 2019 kicked off on Thursday 14 February in the snowy city of Berchtesgaden with an impressive opening ceremony.
Lieutenant-General Peter Bohrer, Deputy Inspector of the Armed Forces Base, officially opened the event in the presence of the CISM President, Colonel Hervé Piccirillo, CISM Secretary General, Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, the Board of Directors Members, the Mayors of the cities and municipalities from Berchtesgaden, Ruhpolding, Inzell, Bischofswiesen and Schönau am Königssee, military representatives and numerous national and international guests
The opening ceremony was followed by the official signing of the organization contract by CISM President, Colonel Hervé Piccirillo, and Lieutenant-General Peter Bohrer, President of the WINOC, to host the 4th CISM World Winter Games 2021 in Berchtesgadener Land and Ruhpolding.
During this Ceremony, the official logo and slogan of 4th CISM World Winter Games 2021 were also unveiled by Lieutenant-General Peter Bohrer, President of the WINOC.
The logo of the 4th CISM World Winter Games 2021 combines the languages and cultures of the nations competing and the communal spirit among them. The ribbon of Friendship is an integral part of the logo. It is the top feature and bears the design of the Bundeswehr's brand as an employer. Composed of wintry ice colours, the ribbon forms the shape of a mountain. representing the silhouette of the Watzmann, it establishes the regional connection to the most famous mountain massif of the Berchtesgaden Alps. The ribbon is also a ribbon of friendship that connects all the athletes and their nations.
The slogan of the 4th World Winter Games 2021 is “Verbunden durch Freundschaft“ which means “United by Friendship“.
The first sessions of the BoD Meeting started yesterday, February 15, with the President, SG, and Vice-Presidents reports and different presentations will go on until February 18.
