Bad weather conditions disturbed the competition

WARENDORF / SOEST (GER) – During the last three days, the rain and the wind disturbed the participants of the 41st WMC parachuting in Warendorf / Soest. Despite these weather problems, the organization managed to program jumps and the competition did not stop completely.

In the individual accuracy female, after four rounds, WO Lepezina (RUS) was still leading the competition after seven jumps, ahead of Lt. Siwei Li (CHN) and 1.Lt Wang Ping (CHN), with only one jump to be performed.

WO Lepezina is also leading the provisional ranking of the individual overall female event with WO Elena Tusheva (RUS) and SSG Natalia Zimina (BLR)

In the individual accuracy junior female competition, Cdt Yang Mei (CHN) lost the lead for the benefit of CPL Darja Shastakovich (BLR, the former champion in Kubinka in 2016. Cdt Kaixuan Wang is completing the podium. The podium is identical for the individual overall junior female competition.

The team accuracy female ranking changed as Belarus is now on the provisional first place ahead of China and Russia. In the nation overall female event, Russia is respectively one and two point ahead of France and Belarus.

In the men’s individual Accuracy competition, with only two jumps left, two parachutists are currently sharing the first place:  OR-6 Miloslav Kriz (CZE) and WO Gabor Hirschler (HUN). The spectators will attend a nice fight for the medals as Lt. Dmitrii Maksimov (RUS) and 2LT. Tinabo Gao (CHN) are both ranked third, one point ahead of the leaders.

Thanks to a very good second jump, OR-7 Elischa Weber consolidated its first place in the individual style male event with OF-1 Libor Jirousek (CZE) and Lt Dmitrii Maksimov (RUS) completing the podium. With his regular performances, Lt. Maksimov is the leader of the individual overall male provisional ranking with a 5 points lead on OR-7 Stefan Wiesner (GER). OR-7 Oldrich Sorf (CZE) is ranked third.

The Chinese 2Lt. Tinabo Gao overcame all his opponents to lead the three junior male events with 5 jumps to go. In the individual accuracy junior male event, his teammates Cdt Zuolei Zhang (CHN) and 2Lt Shanmao Lu are respectively ranked second and third. In style, Tinabo Gao outpaced OR-5 Lukas Tschech (GER) and Cdt Sicheng Zheng (CHN). China didn’t leave any space to the other nations on the provisional ranking with 5 athletes in the Top 5 namely 2Lt. Tinabo, 2Lt. Lu, Cdt. Z. Zhang, Cdt. S. Zhang and 2Lt. Li.

The Belgian team increase its lead in the formation male event with a 17 points advantage on Qatar while Germany is ranked third. In Team Accuracy Male, the competition will be fierce until the end as China only has a one point lead on Germany while Hungary is 3 points beyond the leader.

Finally, Germany is the provisional leader of the nation overall male ranking while Russia and Czech Republic are sharing the second place.
