41st WMC Parachuting – Warendorf (GER) – Update – Day 7

Gold medals for France, Belgium and Belarus.

WARENDORF / SOEST (GER) – The first medals of the 41st WMC Parachuting were awarded yesterday, July 18, in Warendorf.

After winning the junior style competition in Kubinka in 2016, OR-1 Léocadie Ollivier de Pury (FRA) repeated the same performance by grabbing the gold medal in the individual style female event. She defeated the defending champion WO Olga Lepezina (RUS) and WO Elena Laktionova (RUS), respectively ranked second and third. An impressive performance from the young French Parachutist!

Cpl Darja Shastakovich (BLR), who took the second place of the same competition in Kubinka behind Ollivier de Pury, is now the new world military champion of the individual style junior female event. Her impressive performances allowed her to win the gold medal while Soldier Kseniaa Fominykh (RUS) and Cdt Kaixuan Wang (CHN) completed the podium.

We take the same and it resumes! France won a second gold medal yesterday, as the French team triumphed, as in Kubinka in 2016, in the formation female event ahead of Russia and China! Congratulation to France for this tremendous double.

The situation was the same for the formation male competition with a podium identical to the one in Kubinka. Indeed, the Belgian team won the gold medal, Qatar finished on the second place of the podium while Germany was ranked third.

In the individual accuracy junior male event, the ranking didn’t change and 2Lt. Tinabo Gao is still leading the competition with one jump left. 2Lt. Tinabo is also leading the individual overall junior male competition ahead of his teammates 2Lt. Lu and Cdt. Z. Zhang.

The suspense is growing in the individual accuracy male event as OR6 Miloslav Kriz (CZE), WO Gabor Hirschler (HUN) and 2Lt Tinabo Gao (CHN) are currently sharing the first place with a one point lead on 5 other competitors, all ranked fourth. With only one jump left, today’s round will be decisive.

In individual style male, OR-7 Weber (GER) and OF-1 Jirousek (CZE) are still ranked first and second while Lt. Maksimov (RUS) lost the third place in favour of OR-7 Stefan Wiesner (GER)
