41st WMC Parachuting – Warendorf (GER) – Update – Day 8

4 more gold medals awarded before the last day of competition

WARENDORF / SOEST (GER) – Yesterday, July 19, in Warendorf, four more gold medals were awarded before the last day of competition that will also feature the Closing Ceremony of the 41st WMC Parachuting.

After winning the individual style junior female event yesterday, Cpl Darja Shastakovich (BLR) won a second gold medal in the individual accuracy junior female event ahead of Cdt Yang Mei and Soldier Kseniaa Fominykh, respectively silver and bronze medalists! What an incredible performance from the Belarusian parachutist who will for sure reach the world ranking top in the coming years!

Yesterday, OR-7 Elischa Weber (GER) realized a great performance who allowed him to be the new military world champion in individual style male, after his bronze medal in the same competition in Kubinka in 2016. The defending champion OF-1 Libor Jirousek (CZE) finished on the second place of the podium while the local parachutist OR-7 Stefan Wiesner is ranked third.

In the Junior Male events, the Chinese team left nothing but crumbs for the other competitors. Indeed, 2Lt Tinabo Gao is the new military world champion in the individual style junior male event ahead of OR-5 Lukas Tschech (GER) and Cdt Sicheng Zhang (CHN) who completed the podium.

In individual accuracy junior male, China placed four athletes in the top four places. Cdt Zuolei Zhang won the gold medal two points ahead of 2Lt Tinabo Gao. 2Lt Shanmao Lu took the bronze medal while 2Lt Jialin Li was ranked fourth.

The last competitions will take place today and will be followed by the Closing Ceremony in the afternoon.

Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, CISM Secretary General and OCR of the 41st WMC Parachuting, also awarded the CISM Order of Merit (Knights) to Stabseldwebel Friedrich and Oberstabsgefreiten Hübner!
