FPPM AND MILITARY ACADEMY CELEBRATE THE SIGNING OF COOPERATION PROTOCOL

PORTUGAL - On June 30, the FPPM (Modern Pentathlon Portuguese Federation) and the Military Academy celebrated the signing of a cooperation protocol between the two institutions with a ceremony held in the military campus of Amadora. The FFPM President Manuel Barroso, the Executive Director Lieutenant-Colonel Rui Lucena, the Military Academy Commander Major General João Vieira Borges and the President of the CISM Modern Pentathlon Committee Lieutenant Colonel Nilton Rolim Filho attended the ceremony.

The two institutions will take advantage of this cooperation protocol involving both Amadora and Gomes Freire Campuses through the following actions:

- Viability of the Modern Pentathlon training center;

- Creation of a Modern Pentathlon military team with the objective of a national representation at the CISM WMC Modern Pentathlon in Drzonkow (Poland) from 11 to 17 September 2017;

- Launching a Modern Pentathlon program in the Military Academies;

- Restore ab International Meeting of the Military Academies;

This long-standing wish of the FPPM to re-launch this partnership is totally in line with the development strategy of the current Board, which aims to qualify a team for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
