Rio 2016 Olympic Games - CISM Top Athletes Results - Final Update

 

 

RIO DE JANEIRO – For the two last day of competition at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the military athletes performed very well.

In Canoe Sprint, HG Liebscher Tom (GER) took the gold medal in the men’s kayak four 1000m with his teammates Rendschmidt, Hoff and Gross while in taekwondo, Radik Isayev (AZE) managed to defeat Abdoulrazak (NIG) in the gold medal contest of the men's +80kg category.

 

 

The Chinese Cadet Xinyue Yuan won the gold medal with team China in the volleyball women’s tournament. In final, China stood up to Serbia 3 sets to 1 (19-25; 25-17; 25-22; 25-23)

 

 

The Russian wrestler Private Soslan Ramonov took the last gold medal of the CISM Top Athletes, by topping the men’s Freestyle -65kg podium after his victory in the gold medal contest against Asgarov (AZE).

 

 

In athletics, Spc. Paul Chelimo, from the US army, took the second place of the men’s 5000m final. Unfortunately, he couldn’t beat Mohamed Farah (GBR), one of the best athlete ever of the 5000m.

 

 

HG Steffi Kriegerstein and OF Tina Dietze (GER) and their teammates Hering and Weber were ranked second in the women’s Kayak Four 500m Final A (Canoe Sprint) only 0.9 seconds behind the Hungarian team.

 

 

Oussama Oueslati won the first medal for the Tunisian army with his bronze medal yesterday in the male -80kg in taekwondo.  In the bronze medal contest, Oueslati defeated the most decorated Taekwondo player in the history of the sport, Steven Lopez (USA), a five-time Olympian (2 gold medals, 1 bronze medal) and six-time World Champion.  Oueslati easily defeated the legendary Lopez 14-5.

 

 

 

In Canoe Sprint, CPL Lukáš Trefil, CW2 Josef Dostál, 1LT Jan Štěrba and Havel (CZE) finished on the third place of the men’s kayak four 1000m podium. It’s the second medal for CW2 Josef Dostál after his silver medal in the men’s kayak single 1000m. In the men’s kayak single 200m final, OF Ronald Rauhe (GER) also took the bronze medal!

 

 

Finally, the Brazilian army won another medal at those Rio 2016 OG with the third place of 3° SG (AF) Maicon Andrade (BRA) who won his bronze medal contest against Cho (GBR) in the  taekwondo men’s +80kg category.
