Rio 2016 Olympic Games - CISM Top Athletes Results - Update 13

 

RIO DE JANEIRO – Only two days left before the end of the competitions at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games and once again the CISM Top athletes proudly won several medal.

 

 

In the women’s football tournament, Staff Sergeant Simone Laudehr (GER) managed to win the gold medal thanks to Germany’s victory against Sweden (2-1) in the gold medal game.

 

 

CPL Hellen Obiri (KEN) won the third medal of the Kenyan army. Indeed, with a 14:29.77 time, she finished on the second step of the women’s 5000m podium just behind her teammate Vivian Cheruiyot (14:26.17 – Olympic Record).

 

 

In modern pentathlon, with 1356 points, Brigadier-chef Elodie Clouvel (FRA) took the second place of the women’s individual competition ahead of the Polish bronze medallist st. szer. Oktawia Nowacka who finished the competition with 1349 points. The gold medal was awarded to Esposito (AUS – 1372 points).

 

 

In athletics, 2nd Lieutenant Hirooki Arai won the first medal for the Japanese Army at those Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He took the bronze medal in the men’s 50km race walk

 

 

 

Finally, in boxing, the German Sergeant Artem Harutyunyan (GER) defeated Sotomayor Collazo (AZE) and won the bronze medal in the men’s Light Welter (-64kg) category!

 

 

In badminton, NRO Li Xuerui (CHN) unfortunately lost the bronze medal game against Okuhara (JPN) in the women’s single competition.
