The 44th WMC Modern Pentathlon is about to start in Warendorf (GER) 

 

 

WARENDORF (GER) – More than 77 athletes from 16 countries (Argentina – Austria – Belarus – Brazil – China – Czech Republic – Ecuador – Egypt – France – Italy – Lithuania – Latvia – Poland – Russia – Ukraine – Germany) will compete in Warendorf (GER) for the 44th WMC Modern Pentathlon from 17th to 26th September.

 

 

On September 19, the Opening Ceremony took place in the presence of General Frances Allen (CAN), CISM OCR and member of the BoD, Lt-Col Nilton Rolim (BRA), PCSC Modern Pentathlon, Col. Michael Maul, Commander of the Bundeswehr Sports School who opened the Championships after Gen. Allen’s speech. Colonel Maul also highlighted the fact that the first WMC Modern Pentathlon took place in Warendorf in 1966 and that now, 50 years later, Warendorf organizes the WMC Modern Pentathlon for the 7th time (last edition in 2001).

The Opening Ceremony was covered by WDR1, a German TV Channel: Coverage of the Opening Ceremony starts around 22:10.

2 Olympic medalists in the Rio 2016 Olympic Games will compete in the 44th WMC Modern Pentathlon: Brigadier-Chef Elodie Clouvel (FRA), silver medalist, and st. szer Oktawia Nowacka, bronze medalist.
