Another shower of Olympic titles and medals for our military athletes at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games - Day 8 & 9
DAY 8
TOKYO (FRA) - For once, our military shooters showed great talent in the 50m Rifle 3 Positions Women (Shooting) competition with six CISM athletes placed in the top six positions. After a first bronze medal, Private First-Class Nina Christen won the Olympic title, beating the two Russians Lieutenant Yulia Zykova and Lieutenant Yulia Karimova to the podium. Private Jeanette Hegg Duestad (NOR), Specialist Sagen Maddalena (USA) and SU Jolyn Beer (GER) took the 4th, 5th and 6th places respectively.

In the 4x400m Mixed Relay (Track & Field), Poland's Justyna Świety-Ersetic, with her teammates Zalewski, Kaczmarek and Duszynski, ran a dazzling race to help her country win another gold medal.

After a silver medal in the Individual Sabre Women's event, Captain Sofya Velikaya (RUS) and her teammate Sergeant Olga Nikitina defeated Maréchal des Logis Manon Brunet's French team in the final of the Women's Sabre Team Event (Fencing Place) ! Corporal Michela Battiston and the Italian team finished fourth !

Warrant Officer Clarisse Agbegnenou claimed a second Olympic Title with her teammate Private Margaux Pinot of the French Army of Champion in the Mixed Team Event (Judo). In the same event, Warrant Officer Madina Taimazova, Warrant Officer Mikhail Igolnikov, Lieutenant Aleksandra Babintseva and Senior Sergeant Tamerlan Bashaev from Russia finished fifth while 3rd Sergeant Eduardo Katsuhiro Barbosa, 3rd Sergeant Eduardo Yudy Brito Santos and 3rd Sergeant Rafael Buzacarini from Brazil and Sergeant Ganhaich Bold (MGL) finished seventh!
In Swimming, the representatives of the Chinese Armed Forces Zibei Yan, Yufei Zhang and Junxuan Yang finished on the second step of the podium of the 4x100 Medley Mixed Relay (Swimming) behind Britain while Corporal Elena Di Liddo (ITA) and her teammates finished fourth!

The Windsurfing competition benefited the French Army of Champions who added two silver medals to their collection with second place finishes for Petty Officer (French Navy) Charline Picon in Women's RS:X Sailing and Petty Officer 1st Class (French Navy) Thomas Goyard in Men's RS:X Sailing. In the Women's RS:X Sailing, another CISM Representative, Corporal Marta Maggetti finished in fourth place overall.
In Archery, Corporal Mauro Nespoli (ITA) had a great tournament but lost the Men's Individual Event gold medal match to Turkey's Gazoz (6/4) while German Corporal Florian Unruh took fifth place in the competition.

The French Army of Champions won another bronze medal thanks to Brigadier Dorian Coninx who finished third in the Mixed Relay (Triathlon) and Austria won the last military medal of the day with the bronze medal of Master Corporal Lukas Weißhaidinger in the final of the Discus Throw Men (Track & Field).

DAY 9
TOKYO (FRA) - The ninth day of finals at the Tokyo Olympic Games started in the best possible way for our military athletes with the Olympic title for Marshal Maxime Pauty and Corporal Enzo Lefort, gold medallists in the Men's Foil Team Event (Fencing) thanks to their victory over the Russian team led by Lieutenant Timur Safin (45-28). In the same competition, the Italian team composed of four soldiers (Corporal Giorgio Avola, Corporal Alessio Foconi, Corporal Andrea Cassara' and Corporal Daniele Garozzo) finished fifth.

In Swimming, Corporal Federico Burdisso from Italy finished third in the 4x100m Men's Medley Relay (Swimming), followed by Xiao Ruoteng from China, bronze medallist in the Floor's Exercise Individual Men (Artistic Gymnastics).
