Romania sends 80 athletes to the 7th CISM World Summer Games

WUHAN (CHN) - The Romanian Armed Forces have sent a total of 80 athletes to the 7th CISM Military World Games (7th CWG) which will be held in Wuhan, China, from October 18 to 27, announced the Ministry of National Defense.

The Romanians will compete along with athletes from over 100 countries in athletics (jumping, running and throwing events), orienteering, military pentathlon, triathlon, boxing, judo, swimming (swimming and diving), fencing, shooting and archery, according to the ministry.

The Wuhan-bound team consist of members of all military units of the Romanian Armed Forces, as well as sportsmen from the "Steaua" Sports Club Bucharest and from the National Defense University.

Four disabled or injured soldiers are also part of the team and the 4 athletes will participate in the archery and athletics sports.

Romania has been a member state of the CISM since 1992.
