BRASILIA (BRA) – The Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) and the International Military Sports Council (CISM) have officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation between the two organizations.

The agreement, signed during a meeting in Brasília between COB President Marco La Porta and CISM President Colonel Nilton Gomes Rolim Filho, sets out a framework for closer collaboration in areas such as the organization of joint training camps, coach education programs, and talent development initiatives benefiting both civilian and military athletes.

“Strengthening the relationship between COB and CISM is a matter of great pride for me. CISM is an institution that promotes the values of sport worldwide, and the Olympic Committee needs partners like this to advance our vision of a sporting nation. This partnership will represent a major step forward for our athletes, especially our Olympic stars, who will benefit from training camps, exchanges, and additional support when competing abroad,” said Marco La Porta, President of COB.

CISM President Colonel Nilton Rolim underlined the broader significance of the agreement: “This memorandum is very important not only for COB and CISM to represent Brazil effectively in competitions but also to generate knowledge. Scientific knowledge is what enables us to progress in sport as a whole.”

The signing of this agreement reflects CISM’s ongoing commitment to building strategic partnerships with National Olympic Committees and sports organizations worldwide, fostering the development of military and civilian athletes alike while promoting the values of Friendship Through Sport.
