1st CISM East Asia Judo Championship - Presentation of the Mongolian Team

A BRIEF INTERVIEW OF THE MONGOLIAN CHIEF OF DELEGATION TO CISM, COLONEL DORJDEREM GANKHUYAG, MINISTRY OF DEFENSE – MONGOLIA

"Since its creation, CISM contributed to the establishment of a mutual trust and harmonious cooperation between the armed forces and military personnel through sport. Furthermore, CISM extended a positive atmosphere in the regional security environment, which ultimately encourages the global peace. I would like to express my deepest gratitude to CISM for giving us the opportunity to organize this famous event, the 1st CISM East Asia Judo Championship, in our country of Mongolia that actively promotes peace and cooperation within the regional countries through mutual confidence and friendship. I am confident that the CISM East Asia Judo Championships will be regularly organized in the coming years in the other regional countries; therefore, Mongolia is making its utmost effort to organize successfully this event with a high level of quality.

This event is clearly an important event as East Asia is one of the hot spots in the world. I strongly support this CISM Championship, as I believe that sports competitions can contribute to enhancing cooperation and strengthening trust among the nations during this period of challenging political situation. Moreover, this event is a huge opportunity for the development of the military sports committees and coherence and harmonization among them.  I am sure that this 1st CISM East Asia Judo Championship will be very interesting and competitive, as it will gather the best military athletes from many countries.

I am sure this event will help to strengthen long lasting friendships and mutual confidence among the militaries of the region and will be a strong foundation for the establishment of peace, stability and mutually trusted cooperation in the region.

Even though our athletes are training the year round, they took part, for the first time, to a training camp for a one-month intensive preparation, given the importance of the event.

I would like to emphasize that Mongolia will have a strong delegation as our athletes participated in several CISM events since we renewed our membership in 2014 and achieved many successes in Judo competitions. For instance, Major P.Nyamlkhagva, gold medalist at the CISM World Military Judo championship, is now working as Coach for our team".
