60th WMC Aeronautical Pentathlon - Tikkakoski (FIN) - Update 2

TIKKAKOSKI (FIN) - The third day of competition of the 60th World Military Aeronautical Pentathlon Championship took place yesterday and our military athletes were able to demonstrate their basketball skills in the Ball Contest, the fourth event of the championship.


In the women's event, after taking the second place in the Shooting event and the first place in the Fencing event, the Brazilian Mayara Soares Da Silva won the Ball Contest with a considerable lead of 90 points over the Spanish athlete Rocio Sosa. The third place of the podium was occupied by the local athlete Heini Pelto who achieved a score of 734 points.

The men's competition was also won by a representative of the Brazilian Armed Forces thanks to the first place of Thiago Goulart Gomes Oliveira (1138 points). The 2021 World Military Champion of the discipline, Eduardo Carrillo from Spain, finished second with 1018 points while his compatriot Victor Rodriguez took third place with 988 points. As for the Ukrainian Dmitriy Kmetjuk, winner of two of the first three events, he limits the damage by finishing 6th with 960 points.


Everything will be decided today for both men and women with the last two events of the competition, the orientation and the obstacle course!
