High stakes and tight margins as Round Two reshapes the leaderboard

DIANI (KEN) – The second round of the 16th World Military Golf Championship unfolded under overcast skies and mounting tension, as shifting leaderboards signaled a day of high-stakes action and exceptional performances.

 

In the Men’s Individual competition, India’s Parmar Varoon surged to the top, carding a steady performance to finish the round at 4 over par, narrowly edging past France’s Paul Emmanuel Cabbane, who closed just one stroke behind at 5 over par. Their battle promises a thrilling showdown in the final rounds.

The Women’s Individual event delivered equally captivating drama, with France’s Evangeline Prévot overtaking her compatriot and reigning champion Pauline Stein to seize the lead at 7 over par. Uganda’s Flavia Namakula held onto third position with a solid 21 over par, continuing her resilient campaign.

 

France also asserted dominance in the team events, topping both the Men’s and Women’s categories with cumulative scores of 29 over par and 14 over par, respectively. The South African men's team staged a remarkable climb up the rankings to claim second place at 45 over par, showcasing determination and tactical execution. Close behind, Bahrain and Canada remain in striking distance, setting the stage for a dramatic final push.

 

The level of play reached new heights in round two. Athletes executed every stroke with remarkable precision and composure, turning the day into a showcase worthy of a championship finale. The course echoed with concentration, tension, and the unmistakable discipline of military sport.
