CISM mourns passing of Colonel (retired) Joseph Potin

BRUSSELS (BEL) – The International Military Sports Council is deeply saddened to hear about the demise of Colonel (retired) Joseph Potin (SEN), former CISM Board of Directors Members, on April 6 in Dakar. “He was one of important character of the CISM Family and Military Sports movement,” declared Colonel Dorah Mamby Koita, CISM Secretary General.

 

Colonel Potin was member of the CISM Board of Directors between 1992 and 1996, CISM Vice-President Africa (1994-1996), OSMA President (1994-1996), OLAO Vice-President (1986-1996), Chief of Delegation of Senegal to CISM 1983-1992) as well as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Senegalese Armed Forces from 1996 to 1998 when he retired.

Colonel Joseph Potin contributed enormously to the influence of military sport in Africa and in the world. Our sincere condolences go to his family, the Senegalese Armed Forces, OLAO, OSMA and CISM.
