Important meetings between CISM and the Russian Delegation to CISM in Moscow

MOSCOW (RUS) - In the framework of the organization of the 58th World Military Boxing Championship, the CISM President Colonel Hervé Piccirillo had several meetings scheduled with the authorities of the Russian Federation.

 

In the morning of September 18, the CISM President Colonel Hervé Piccirillo met with Colonel Andreï Zykov, Director General of Physical Preparation and Sport of the Russian Armed Forces. After the words of welcome and mutual thanks, Colonel Piccirillo and Colonel Zykov discussed about the organisation and running of the 58th World Military Boxing Championship, the  prospects for the evolution of CISM competitions, the prospects for the inclusion of injured and veteran athletes in CISM events and also exchanged on the upcoming competitions in Russia and in particular the Cadet Games. On this purpose, the CISM President will travel to St Petersburg from 18 to 21 October.

Another meeting took place before the Opening Ceremony of the event in the Patriot Park. During this meeting, CISM President Colonel Hervé Piccirillo met with the following Russian High authorities: Army General Nikolai Pankov, State Secretary ; Colonel General Andrei Kartapolov, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces ; Lieutenant General Yunus-bek Evkurov, Deputy Minister of Defence of Russia ; Mr. Alexei Morozov, Deputy Minister of Sport of Russia ; Mr. Umar Kremliov, AIBA President ; Colonel Andrei Zykov, General Director of Physical Preparation and Sport of the Russian Armed Forces and Colonel Artyom Gromov, Head of CSKA.

 

It was a very high level meeting with the military authorities of the Russian Federation during which the following topics were discussed: the strong commitment of the Russian Armed Forces to support CISM and the international military sport, the possibility for the Russian Armed Forces to support the development of sport for veterans in the future. In the end, the two parties recalled the importance of military values within CISM and the contribution of international military sport to peace.
