General Hervé Piccirillo visits Tunisia

TUNIS (TUN) - For his first international trip of the year 2022, General Hervé Piccirillo, CISM President, went to Tunis, capital of Tunisia, at the invitation of the Tunisian Delegation to CISM.
On Monday, January 24, for the first day of his visit, General Piccirillo went to the DEPSM (Directorate of Physical Education and Military Sport) where he was welcomed by Colonel-Major Mokaddem Abderraouf, Chief of the Tunisian Delegation to CISM, for a welcome reception.

The reception was followed by a presentation of the DEPSM, and the organization of the Tunisian military sport made by Colonel Lofti Bouguerra. The CISM President then visited the Military School of Sports and attended the training of national military teams that allowed him to meet, among others, the Tunisian military boxing team as well as high-level athletes of the Tunisian Defense, including many Olympic medals, world champions and military world champions. At the end of the visit of the DESPM, the CISM President proceeded to the signing of the Golden Book of the DEPSM in the presence of Colonel-Major Mokaddem Abderraouf, Chief of the Tunisian delegation to CISM.

In the afternoon, General Hervé Piccirillo visited successively the sports complex Meftah Saadallah and the military equestrian center La Soukra, directed by Colonel Veterinary Surgeon Mohamed Smaoui, also President of the Equestrian Committee of CISM (PCSC).

Throughout the visit, the CISM President and the Chief of the Tunisian delegation were able to discuss local and international military sports as well as future projects with CISM.
