CISM President and Secretary General engages in high-level meetings during Monaco visit

MONACO (MON) – The CISM President, Colonel Nilton Rolim, and the CISM Secretary General, Navy Captain Roberto Recchia, recently undertook a significant visit to Monaco from February 22 to 24, fostering collaboration and strengthening ties with the Monegasque delegation of CISM.

 

On January 22, the esteemed guests took part in the Charity Match of the FIGHT AIDS CUP at the renowned Stade Louis II in Monaco. The CISM President and the CISM Secretary General also graced the Charity Gala of the FIGHT AIDS CUP in the evening, showcasing their commitment to charitable initiatives and community engagement.

 

Continuing their visit on January 23, Colonel Nilton Rolim and Navy Captain Roberto Recchia engaged in a productive working lunch with the Monegasque delegation. Accompanied by Lieutenant Denis Raymond, the Chief of the Monegasque delegation to CISM, discussions revolved around Monaco's active participation in CISM events and identified areas for future collaboration.

The highlight of the day included an audience with His Serene Highness H.S.H. Albert II at the iconic Princely Palace in Monaco. This provided an opportunity for the delegation to discuss mutual interests and share insights on the role of sports in fostering international cooperation. The CISM President Colonel Nilton Rolim expressed gratitude to H.S.H. Albert II for exploring the option of hosting the CISM General Assembly and Congress in 2026. The financial and logistical elements are currently being examined with the aim of realizing this event.

 

In the evening, the CISM delegation was honored to participate in the prestigious International Circus Festival, culminating in the Gala of the Winners. This cultural event further underscored the importance of cultural exchange and camaraderie.

 

Colonel Nilton Rolim and Navy Captain Roberto Recchia expressed their gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality extended by Monaco. The visit not only strengthened diplomatic ties but also highlighted the shared commitment to promoting sports, cultural exchange, and philanthropy.
