Three Olympic Titles for our military athletes at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics - Day 5

TOKYO (FRA) - Another historic day for our CISM military athletes at the Tokyo 2021 Olympic Games with three new Olympic titles!

 

BoucheronPetty Officer 2nd Class Hugo Boucheron

 

Petty Officer 2nd Class Hugo Boucheron, from the French National Defence Sports Centre and Army of Champions, became Olympic champion in Men's Double Sculls (Rowing) with his teammate Matthieu Androdias after a perfectly executed race!

 

Also in Rowing, Simona Radis, a member of the Romanian Armed Forces, distinguished herself in the most beautiful way with her teammate Ancuta Bodnar and became Olympic champion in the Women's Double Sculls, beating the Olympic record for the discipline in the process.

China's Wang Zongyuan and Siyi Xie, who dominated the 2019 CISM Summer Military World Games by winning the Men's 1m Springboard, Men's 3m Springboard and Men's Synchronised 3m Springboard gold medals, won the Men's Synchronised 3m Springboard final to take Olympic gold in diving.

After Simona Radis, Mugurel Semciuc offered Romania a second medal with his second place in the Men's Four (Rowing) with his teammates Vasile Gypsy, Stefan Constantin Berariu and Cosmin Pascari!

 

Italian Corporal Enrico Berrè and his teammates Luca Curatoli, Aldo Montano and Luigi Samele (reservist) secured a silver medal after being defeated by the Korean Team in the gold medal game of the Sabre Men's Team Event (Fencing) while Xiao Ruoteng (CHN), multi medallist at the CISM Military World Summer Games 2019 in Wuhan, took the silver medal Men's All-Around Final (Artistic Gymnastics)!

The Italian military representatives won two more bronze medals with Corporal Federico Burdisso's third place in the 200m Men's Butterfly Final (Swimming) and Corporals Matteo Lodo and Giuseppe Vicino in the Men's Four Final (Rowing).
