MADRID (ESP) – The Spanish Delegation to CISM, in collaboration with the European University of Madrid and USAC San Cristóbal, is proud to host the I International Congress on Stress Psychophysiology: Operational Applications, along with the I Stress Training Instructor Course, from 10 to 13 July 2025.

This groundbreaking initiative, supported by the Management Unit for Armed Forces and Security (UGFAS), will take place at the European University of Madrid and the San Cristóbal Military Base in Villaverde. The event aims to address one of the most pressing challenges facing today’s armed forces: managing psychophysiological stress in high-pressure and high-risk environments.

In a world of complex security scenarios and demanding military missions, understanding and controlling stress has become essential. This congress provides a unique platform for military personnel, researchers, trainers, and health professionals to share best practices, research, and operational strategies.

Key topics include:

  • Stress responses in special forces and fighter pilots
  • Body composition and mental readiness
  • Stress management in firefighting and law enforcement
  • Legal aspects of operational performance under stress

The event includes keynote speeches, scientific sessions, roundtable discussions, and practical workshops, offering both theoretical knowledge and applied tools for stress evaluation and training.

On 12–13 July, the Stress Training Instructor Course will provide specialized training for those involved in preparing military and security personnel. The course will be conducted in Spanish, and participants will explore the neuroscience of stress, design training protocols, and simulate real-world stress scenarios to enhance decision-making, resilience, and operational efficiency.

This event, initiated by the Spanish Delegation to CISM, reflects CISM’s commitment to fostering innovation, preparedness, and scientific development within the military sports and operational readiness communities. It also promotes CISM’s values of education, collaboration, and performance excellence.

Participants may register for the congress, the course, or both. Abstracts for oral and poster presentations are welcome until 15 June 2025, with topics ranging from neurophysiology and resilience to applied stress monitoring technologies.
