Opening Ceremony and first Competition Day launch the 26th CISM World Military Equestrian Championship in Ecuador

 

 

QUITO (ECU) – The 26th CISM World Military Equestrian Championship officially gets underway today in Quito, Ecuador, with the Opening Ceremony marking the beginning of a week of high-level military equestrian competition, international friendship and military cooperation.

 

Following the successful completion of accreditation procedures, technical meetings, horse allocations and the official horse inspection, all participating delegations are now ready to begin competition. The championship brings together military riders from 18 nations, showcasing the highest standards of horsemanship, sportsmanship and military camaraderie.

 

 

The Opening Ceremony will take place on Tuesday, 2 June at 19:00 local time and will be broadcast live through the official channels of the Ecuadorian Army. Military sport enthusiasts around the world will have the opportunity to follow the event live via:

 

 

Competition will begin on 3 June at the Army Equestrian School in Quito, where riders will face the first challenges of the championship aboard horses provided by the Organizing Committee. As in traditional military equestrian competitions, competitors will demonstrate their adaptability, technical ability and partnership with unfamiliar horses, emphasizing the unique military spirit of the discipline.

 

 

The championship represents another important milestone for Ecuador, further reinforcing the country's reputation as a host of major international military sporting events. The Ecuadorian Armed Forces and the Ecuadorian Military Sports Federation (FEDEME) have worked closely with CISM to ensure that the event is organized according to the highest international standards while promoting the values of friendship, solidarity and mutual respect among the Armed Forces of the world.

 

Throughout the week, military athletes will compete for individual and team honors while strengthening the bonds that unite the global military sports community under the CISM motto: Friendship through Sport.
