PISA (ITA) – On May 5, 2025, the Mayor of Pisa, Michele Conti, officially welcomed participants of the Civil and Military Sport Parachuting Judges Course, hosted by the International Military Sports Council (CISM), during a ceremony at the historic Palazzo Gambacorti. The event marked the beginning of an intensive two-week training program at the Parachuting Training Center (CAPAR), Italy’s premier facility for parachuting education.

The course (from April 28 to May 8) brought together over twenty aspiring judges from both civilian and military backgrounds, representing Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. Upon completion, the participants received dual certifications: the CISM military judge qualification and the International Judge accreditation from the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI), in the disciplines of Accuracy Landing and Freefall Style. Several participants were also certified in Formation Skydiving, broadening their expertise across key competitive categories.

The seminar concluded with a prestigious certificate award ceremony held on May 8 in Pisa’s iconic Piazza dei Miracoli, a symbolic setting for the closing of this international event. The ceremony was attended by Colonel Antonio D’Agostino, Commander of CAPAR, and Stefano Bianca, Head of the Italian Delegation to CISM. In total, twenty-three judges, including fifteen international participants and three instructors, successfully completed the program.

This initiative reinforces Pisa’s strategic role as a global center for parachuting excellence. CAPAR, often referred to as the "Mother House" of Italian military parachuting, had previously hosted a similar seminar in 2017, and continues to serve as a key hub for advanced training and certification in both military and civilian contexts.

By expanding the network of internationally qualified judges, this course contributes to the technical development and professionalization of parachuting sports worldwide, underscoring Italy’s commitment to fostering international collaboration and excellence through sport.
