Egyptian Armed Forces successfully organize first Equestrian Behavior Course at CISM-accredited International Center

CAIRO (EGY) – Demonstrating its continued commitment to developing military sport and advancing equestrian excellence in accordance with modern international standards, the Egyptian Armed Forces successfully concluded today the first Equestrian Behavior training course at the International Center for Equestrian Training and Development located at “Kayan City” Club within the Egyptian Military Academy.

Held from 19 to 25 May 2026, the course brought together riders and participants from Egypt and several nations, creating an international platform for education, exchange of expertise and professional development in the field of equestrian sport. Throughout the week, the initiative highlighted the growing importance of scientific approaches and specialized training methods aimed at improving both rider and horse performance.

The event was conducted with the participation of internationally recognized American equestrian trainer Angelo Tilatin, who shared his expertise and experience with participants throughout the program. The course was also attended by Nilton Gomes Rolim Filho, President of the International Military Sports Council, alongside military officials and members of the equestrian community.

The training program covered several important topics focused on understanding equine behavior and improving training methodologies. Participants were introduced to scientific methods for horse training, approaches for managing training intensity, techniques aimed at improving horse welfare and health, and strategies to maximize performance while strengthening the relationship between rider and horse. These educational components provided riders, coaches and specialists with valuable knowledge aligned with the latest international practices in equestrian development.

Beyond its technical dimension, the course also represented an important opportunity to reinforce international cooperation and exchange within the military sports community. Bringing together specialists and participants from different backgrounds contributed to creating an environment that encouraged learning and the sharing of best practices, further strengthening the development of military equestrian sport at both national and international levels.

The initiative also highlighted the growing status of the “Kayan City” facilities within the international military sports framework. The center was previously accredited as an international center by CISM during the opening of the World Military Equestrian Championship, underlining its role as an important venue for future training activities and international sporting initiatives.

Reflecting on the successful completion of the course, CISM President Colonel Nilton Rolim praised the initiative and its impact on the future development of military equestrian sport.

"This course represents much more than technical training. It demonstrates our shared commitment to innovation, education and excellence in military sport. By bringing together participants from different nations and backgrounds, we continue to strengthen friendship and cooperation through sport while investing in the future of our athletes and specialists," said Colonel Nilton Rolim.

He further emphasized the importance of such initiatives in building sustainable development for military equestrian disciplines.

"The quality of the program, the expertise shared and the international spirit present throughout this week clearly made this first edition a success. We are confident that this initiative will continue to grow and inspire future generations of military riders. We are already looking forward to the next edition," he added.

Following a week of learning, exchange and practical training, the first Equestrian Behavior course concluded as a successful initiative that further strengthened international collaboration and reinforced the role of military sport as a platform for education and development. The positive engagement of participants and organizers throughout the program highlighted its value for the international equestrian community and laid strong foundations for future editions.
