Lučenec hosts trilateral military parachuting training camp ahead of 48th CISM World Championship

LUČENEC (SVK) – In preparation for the 48th CISM World Military Parachuting Championship scheduled to take place in Lučenec in 2026, the Slovak Armed Forces are currently hosting a joint international training camp bringing together military parachutists from Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Organized within the framework of a trilateral cooperation agreement, the training activities are being conducted from 11 to 15 May 2026 at the future venue of the World Championship. The event gathers teams from the Czech Army, the Hungarian Defence Forces and the host nation, the Slovak Armed Forces, for a series of joint parachuting jumps and operational rehearsals.

Beyond the sporting dimension, the training camp plays an essential role in preparing the Slovak Air Force flight crews and technical support personnel for the organization of a major international military parachuting competition. The objective is to ensure the smooth execution of the future championship while allowing pilots and support teams to better understand the operational and technical requirements linked to competition jumps.

Through these preparatory activities, flight crews are able to rehearse key procedures such as flight coordination, parachutist deployment, and the accurate dropping of competitors at the required altitude and landing zone in accordance with international competition regulations.

The jumps are currently taking place under favorable weather conditions, providing ideal circumstances for the training program. A total of 34 military parachutists are participating in the camp, including 11 from the Czech Republic, 11 from Hungary and 12 from Slovakia.

The 48th CISM World Military Parachuting Championship in Lučenec is expected to bring together military athletes from around the world in the spirit of CISM’s motto, “Friendship through Sport.”
