Sergeant Ellen Braga (BRA) and Corporal Chef Pierre Le Corre (FRA) are the 2019 female and male CISM Athlete of the Year!

 

 

BRUSSELS (BEL) – After a first edition in 2018, the CISM 2019 Athlete of the Year Award crowned Sergeant Ellen Braga (BRA) and Corporal Chef Pierre Le Corre (FRA) as male and female CISM Athlete of the Year 2019 as both of them were elected by the CISM Board of Directors Members during the first BoD Meeting of the year held last week in Brasilia (BRA). Sergeant Ellen Braga (BRA), a volleyball player, and Corporal Chef Pierre Le Corre (FRA), a triathlon specialist, will receive their award during the next CISM General Assembly and Congress.

The other finalists of the women’s contest were Salwa Nasser (BRN - Track & Field) and Private First Class Jolanda Annen (SUI - Triathlon) while for the men, CPO Mathias Wesemann (GER- Naval Pentathlon) and Lieutenant Augusto Xavier Guizado Narea (ECU – Aeronautical Pentathlon), were amongst the nominees.

 

 

Besides great technical skills, Sergeant Ellen Braga is an athlete that demonstrated an exemplary spirit of friendship and sportsmanship. She won the gold medal with the Brazilian team in the volleyball women’s event at the 7th World Military Games, Wuhan, China.

Pierre Le Corre is an athlete of great value, available, always present in major events. He is also a world class who should participate to the Tokyo Olympic Games. Very affordable and particularly friendly, Pierre le Corre is an example of modesty and professionalism for the other athletes. He has won more than 12 medals at the CISM events! Pierre le Corre won the gold medal in the Elite Men’s Individual event and the silver medal in the Elite Men’s Team event at the 7th World Military Games in Wuhan, China.

 

 

Congratulations to Sergeant Ellen Braga (BRA) and Corporal Chef Pierre Le Corre (FRA) for their outstanding performances in the CISM Events.
