Colonel Hervé Piccirillo, CISM President, visited the Kioto Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Club in Rio de Janeiro (Tijuca)

RIO DE JANEIRO (BRA) - Within the framework of the 22nd World Military Equestrian Championship, Colonel Hervé Piccirillo, CISM President, accompanied by Colonel Luiz Fernando, CISM Sports Director, were welcomed by Professor Marcelo Montero Pereira de Souza (former Brazilian Army), Professor Vinicius Vieira Black Belt and host of Kyoto Academy, Professor Lysandra Karine Almeida de Sousa and their team at the Kioto Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) club in Rio de Janeiro (Tijuca).


This centre promotes the practice of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu between generations, develops women's practice and offers a social approach for young people.

BJJ is a Martial Art which:


  • carries military values: commitment, courage, respect, friendship.
  • includes combat techniques similar to the operational preparation of soldiers



This visit is part of the Armed Forces-Nation link with the dissemination of CISM values, particularly among young people.
