Taekwondo: Brazil's MELO snares Brazil's second Wuhan 2019 taekwondo gold

 

 

WUHAN (CHN) - Brazil won its second gold medal of the Wuhan 2019 taekwondo tournament when Paulo MELO took the title in the men's -54kg class on Friday. It followed Edival MARQUES (BRA) breakthrough victory in the -68kg class on Thursday.

Other winners on the penultimate day of competition were KIM Hyeongwoo (ROK) in the men's -63kg event and Charos KAYUMOVA earning Uzbekistan its fourth Wuhan 2019 taekwondo gold medal in the women's -53kg class.

 

 

In the final bout of the day, China's Jie SONG was too good for Brazil's Caroline SANTOS in the -62kg class.

Competition ends Saturday, 26 October with four gold medal bouts.
