Cameroon eyes medals at the 7th CWG in Wuhan

WUHAN (CHN) - The Cameroonian athletes left their country for Wuhan to take part in the 7th CISM Military World Games which will be held between October 18 and 27.

"You must participate, win and bring back medals and trophies to the country. Cameroonians will be proud to see their flag fly and national anthem sung in China”, declared Joseph Beti Assomo, Cameroon's Minister of Defence to his athletes before their departure.

Cameroonian athletes will participate in six disciplines: women's football, boxing, taekwondo, athletics, judo and wrestling.

"The Games are particularly important for the military female football team because Cameroon will be hosting the next CISM Female World Football Cup in 2020. So, the Games in China will help our team to get well prepared", said Veronique Aboui, Director of the Sports, Culture and Artistic Affairs of the Ministry of Defence.
