Golden performance by EVLOEV puts Russia on top of medal table after final day of wrestling

 

 

WUHAN (CHN) - Musa EVLOEV (RUS) won gold in the men's greco-roman 97kg division to clinch top spot on the medals table for Russia as the Wuhan 2019 wrestling competition wrapped up on Thursday.

EVLOEV beat Matti Elias KUOSMANEN (FIN) for Russia's fifth gold medal, one more than DPR Korea. Aliaksandr HRABOVIK (BLR) and Germany's Oliver HASSLER took  bronze.

 

 

Pejman POSHTAM (IRI) was the winner of the men's greco-roman 77kg division.  Viktor LORINCZ (HUN) took the honours in the greco-roman 87kg class while Riza KAYAALP (TUR) took gold in the greco-roman +130kg.

Russia finished with five gold medals, three silver and four bronze. DPR Korea snared four gold and two bronze medals and China three gold, one silver and two bronze medals.
