Exciting advances in the 46th World Military Parachuting Championship: Day 3 highlights

SZOLNOK (HUN) - The 46th World Military Parachuting Championship 2024 experienced an action-packed third day with notable developments across various events. Both drop zones were alive with activity, featuring impressive performances despite some weather-induced interruptions.

In Formation Skydiving, the men's teams completed two rounds. Belgium emerged as the frontrunner with 73 points, closely followed by the USA with 70 points, and Qatar with 69 points. In the women’s event, Korea took the lead after the first round.

In Accuracy Landing, the women’s category saw China’s team make a strong return, leading with an impressive 11cm after two rounds. Italy and France trailed in second and third positions with 32cm and 38cm, respectively. In the men’s category, after three rounds, Czechia held the lead with 8cm, followed by Hungary with 11cm. Italy and France were tied for third place with 13cm each.

For the Style events, the women’s second round had to be halted due to cloud cover, and the men's first round remains the only pending score across all events.

Looking ahead, the competition will resume on July 5, with several rounds expected to be completed. The day is scheduled to begin with the fourth round of men’s accuracy and the continuation of the women’s second round in style. If wind conditions impact accuracy landing, the men’s formation skydiving will proceed instead.

Helicopter pilots of the H 145 and H 225, alongside the competition management teams responsible for manifest, transport, judging, and scoring, are ensuring the event progresses smoothly.
