Thrilling performances mark fourth day of the 12th WMC Lifesaving in Montpellier

MONTPELLIER (FRA) – The second day of pool event finals at the 12th WMC Lifesaving Championships, held at the Swimming Pool Angelotti, brought fierce competition and remarkable performances.

 

In the women's 200m Obstacle event, Italy's Lucrezia Fabretti claimed the gold, followed closely by China's Yingying Zhu and France's Margaux Fabre. The men's 200m Obstacle saw a stellar performance from Poland's Kacper Majchrzak, who took first place, with China's Weijun Su securing second, and Italy's Simone Locchi finishing third.

 

The women's 4x50m Obstacle Relay was a thrilling race, with the French team, consisting of Margaux Fabre, Camille Julien, Ava Pretre, and Magali Rousseau, taking gold. The Polish team, featuring Dominika Sztandera, Paula Żukowska, Anna Dowgiert, and Paulina Piechota, came in second, while the Brazilian team of Carolina Sarruf, Isabel Fagundes, Thamy Ventorin, and Thais Xavier claimed third place.

 

Day 4 (6)

 

In the men's 4x50m Obstacle Relay, Poland's Hubert Nakielski, Adam Dubiel, Wojciech Kotowski, and Kacper Majchrzak secured first place, with the Chinese team of Weijun Su, Zhuohao Wang, Junhong Lin, and Chao Li taking second. The French team, comprised of Kevin Lasserre, Tom Durager, Jérémie Lahet, and Mathieu Le Floch, finished third.

 

Germany excelled in the women's Line Throw event, with Alica Gebhardt and Undine Lauerwald capturing gold. Brazil's Michele Matos and Thais Xavier took silver, while France's Margaux Fabre and Camille Julien secured bronze. The men's Line Throw saw a French victory, with Santxo Etcheverry and Mathieu Le Floch taking the top spot. Switzerland's Jonas Lenzlinger and Cyril Senften earned silver, and the Netherlands' Rick de Greef and Bas Braun claimed bronze.

 

Day 4 (7)

 

In the women's 100m Manikin Carry with Fins, Lucrezia Fabretti of Italy took first place, followed by her compatriot Masha Giordano, and Germany's Undine Lauerwald. The men's event saw France's Tom Durager take gold, Poland's Hubert Nakielski silver, and Germany's Paul Wohlers bronze.

 

The women's 100m Rescue Medley was dominated by Italy's Lucrezia Fabretti, who earned another gold medal. France's Margaux Fabre and Magali Rousseau took second and third, respectively. In the men's event, Simone Locchi of Italy secured gold, with Germany's Danny Wieck taking silver, and Brazil's Guilherme Rosolen earning bronze.

 

Day 4 (5)

 

The mixed 4x50m Pool Lifesaver Relay concluded the day's events, with Germany's team of Tim Brang, Danny Wieck, Johanna Seilner, and Undine Lauerwald taking first place. Italy's team of Lucrezia Fabretti, Simone Locchi, Mattia Faccinti, and Masha Giordano earned silver, and Poland's team of Wojciech Kotowski, Anna Dowgiert, Paula Żukowska, and Hubert Nakielski took bronze.
